Step aboard your new DSe from the after end - the steps are designed to allow boarding from any dock height from the lowest of floating docks to one six feet above the water level.

The dinghy stows neatly below the “Rumble Seat” on the bridge. The outboard is electric, charged from the DSe’s solar array. Wide side decks lead to the bow.

The port transom hatch opens into the guest berth - the starboard into the machinery and storage space. A dedicated hatch and davit makes it easy to off-load folding bikes (or the Boat Show Special Segway) either onto the dock or into the dink.

The bow of the DSe is your “outdoor patio.” There is plenty of room for 4 loungers and a picnic table. Below the deck is a sizable chain locker (its hatch is shown beneath the table).

Just forward of the  “dogleg” in the cabin side are the “service” room hatches. Each forward hull houses one of the inverter/chargers, solar controller/charger, batteries plus ancillary equipment forward of a water-tight bulkhead, accessible only from the deck.

The mast is forward to avoid harsh shadows from falling on the solar array.

The overhead of the DSe is your “Energy Generator.” 6 kW of solar plus a pair of 1.5 kW wind turbines give you a potential of 9 KW total. ALL the solar panels are up off the deck and essentially out of the way. The panels provide a nice overhang for the bridge - most likely you’ll never need to drop the plastic curtains to keep out rain.

By distributing your weight using a 2” closed cell foam pad, you can access get on the solar array (very carefully) for maintenance or sunning.

The narrow, wave-piercing hulls of the DSe are one reason why she’ll achieve her unique performance. Her broad beam keeps her stable making her ideal for living aboard for extended periods of time.
