The “Express-style” bridge of the DSe is open on the sides and back with fixed glass forward of the sliding doors. Rollups close off these openings when weather dictates - a pair of air conditioning outlets will keep this area cool in hot weather, warm in cool weather.

The pair of tables are on swivel pedestals - they seat 3 each when rotated as shown (to port) and stow out of the way over the corner settee (starboard table) acting as end tables for those sitting alongside.

The helm chairs lower and rotate to become a part of the social scene - there is plenty of counter space for charts or to lay out a buffet luncheon. The settees are long enough for napping or extra overnite guests.

Each helm chair has equal access to the helm. Similar to high-end sports car chairs, they hold you in place and are comfortable for hours on end. Each rotates, has fore-aft sliders and an adjustable reclining backrest and removable head rests.

Forward to port is the sliding plexi companionway hatch opening into the deck house. Rollups stow neatly out of the way when not in use. Snap on panels cover the sliding door openings.

The view over the bow of the DSe is panoramic. Since the foredeck is out of sight, a video camera mounted under the forward solar panels give you a look at your anchoring system plus a view of close-in water allowing you to avoid lobster traps, buoys, swimmers, etc. (see image below).

The helm of the DSe is minimal and uncluttered. The key element is the 15” Garmin touch screen GPSMap 5215 (note camera view of foredeck in upper half of screen). Just below, are the Steyr SCC touch screen control panels. Just aft, is the Tecnautic “Fly-by-Wire” system, the steering knob between the throttle/shifters. To port is the bridge breaker panel - to starboard, the iCOM VHF and wiper controls. There are bins for your handhelds with convenient 12v sockets for charging. The console is centered between the helm chairs giving equal access to the skipper and mate!
